Tip of the day: Receiving hits to your mobile phone

If you would like to receive hits to your mobile phone you can use Informant's SMS service.

Enter your mobile number and select the interval at which you want to receive new hits.

NOTE 1: Make sure the mobile number is in the correct form (look at the picture above). Use 00 instead of + and remove any leading zeroes from your number.

NOTE 2: Every SMS costs 50 credits so you need to refill your subscription if you don't have enough credits.

Christmas is approaching rapidly and it's time to spend time with family and friends. As an Informant user, you know you can save a lot of time by letting Informant monitor web pages that are important to you.

Our Christmas gift to you is a 100% bonus!

For each credit refill you perform until the 31st of December we add a new Informant feed preloaded with 25 credits plus the number of credits you buy.

It's easy - just refill your feed and a new, preloaded, feed will be sent to your e-mail address for free. If you want to give this to a friend, just edit the new subscription and change the email address.

You find the refill link in:

  • your welcome mail
  • the alert mail
  • on the subscription edit page
If you want an overview of your subscriptions just go to Informant, add your email address and click "Email me a list of my subscriptions."

PDF support in Informant

Informant now handles PDF (Portable Document Format) sources as well as Html, Rss, Atom and Json. That means you can monitor online PDF files for changes. It works the same way as with other sources, just enter the URL for the PDF document in the "Enter url..." box.

Eliminating duplicates

Informant now eliminates duplicates from multiple sources. Let's say you have a subscription with two sources:
  1. The Washington Post
  2. The New York Times
They both generate the hit "Obama seeks spending cuts, taxes on wealthy". Now only one hit will be generated by Informant. It works even if small spelling differences exist between the two hits. This means more concise information delivered.
